Dentist, Avi Weisfogel has created a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising money for the charity group called Operation Smile. His campaign aims on raising a total of $2,000 dollars for the charity group. Operation Smile is a dental and surgical charity organization that provides free dental and surgical operations to poor kids who cannot afford to pay for such operations.
Operation Smile treats deformities such as cleft palates and cleft lips. These deformities can really make a child’s like difficult. Not only are they very unsightly and may lead to teasing by peers and strangers, they can also interfere with motor functions such as biting, chewing and talking. The charity group Operation Smile changes people’s lives. Disadvantaged children in third countries often lack access and the ability to pay for surgical procedures that can correct such deformities.
Through its network of thousands of doctors and other volunteers Operation Smile performs hundreds of operations every year on children. The group gives them a life changing operation that improves their lives. Being a doctor himself and understanding how rewarding it is to see a smile on a patient after a successful treatment, Dr. Weisfogel is proud to be able to support Operation Smile through a GoFundMe campaign.
